Shiitake extract – has antiviral, antimicrobial and anti-tumor effect, and boosts the immune system. It is rich in minerals (copper, iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium), vitamin D, vitamins B1, B2 and B3, polyunsaturated fatty acids, the most valuable essential amino acids, mushroom phytoncides, contains the unique immunomodulatory polysaccharide lentinan.
This polysaccharide puts on alert the body’s own anticancer defense systems – it activates immune cells for reproduction of interleukin causing the “tumor necrosis effect”. Moreover, this activity exhibits mild corrective rather than stimulating effect, thus preventing depletion of anti-cancer immunity. Shiitake extract helps to effectively fight against benign and malignant tumors of the stomach, bowels, pancreas, breast, uterus, lungs, skin, and prostate. It is ineffective against malignant brain tumors only.
Cancer patients receiving the shiitake extract show significant reduction in side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Shiitake extract activates the secretion of interferon having strong antiviral effect, so the extract is effective in many viral infections (ARVI, hepatitis, herpes, HIV).
Shiitake extract accelerates the conversion of low-density lipoproteins (high level of such lipoproteins is critical for the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and occurrence of hypertonic syndrome). Since ancient times, shiitake is used for treatment of impotence due to its anti-atherosclerotic activity and high content of zinc.
As it is found by modern scientists, taking of shiitake extract accelerates osteogenesis in bone fractures, gives impulse to remission in the autoimmune diseases, and has a positive effect on blood circulation. It also reduces the aggregation of platelets into plugs, absorption of sugars in the gastrointestinal tract, promotes recovery of the pancreatic cells producing insulin. Under its influence, uptake of glycogen by the liver and muscles improves; fat and cholesterol metabolism is normalized; blood glucose level and overweight are reduced
