Betula сortex (betulin) – is the main component of the extract of silver bark – the top layer of birch bark. It helps the body to adapt to various adverse environmental factors, stresses, physical and mental workloads, in jobs with harmful working conditions and weather dependence.
Betulin protects liver cells from damage by various chemicals, helps to neutralize and remove the harmful substances from the body, normalizes bile secretion, lowers the level of blood lipids, improves the condition of blood vessels making them elastic, improves blood flow, and reduces inflammation, edema, and manifestations of allergies. It also promotes dissolving kidney stones and gallstones.
Betulin reduces the number of mutations in chromosomes and genes, the rate of occurrence of hereditary changes in the body, prevents the emergence of cancer cells and has antitumor activity, due to inducing apoptosis (programmed death) of cancer cells. Possessing high hepatoprotective and immuno-stimulatory properties, betulin shows high antiviral activity in the prevention and treatment of hepatitis C.
In tuberculosis, betulin extract has a positive effect on the processes of lung recovery. Betulin enhances the production of the body’s own interferon in viral infections, activates phagocytosis, making it easier for the body to cope with diseases, facilitates the course of the disease and prevents complications from developing.
It increases the body resistance to oxygen deficiency, which is important in the ischemic heart disease, respiratory failure and physical exertion.
